The
highest authority of the Superintendence of Securities is its Directive
Council who formulates the guidelines, norms and policies with
which the Superintendence works and those by which the stock
market is regulated. The
Superintendent is the President of the Directive Council and
the person in charge of the administration of the Superintendence
as well as of superivising compliance with the legal dispositions
by all participants in the market.
All
aspects related with the inspection and development of the market
are in charge of the Intendency of Securities which reports to the
Superintendent. The Intendency of Securities has the following
departments: Norms and Diffusion, Authorization and Registration,
and Supervision and Control. Additionally, the Superintendence has
support units such as the Juridical Department, Information
Technology Department, the Department of Administration, the
Department of Internal Audit and the Department of Communications.
The
Committee of
Superintendents in which participate the Superintendence
of Pension Funds and the Superintendence
of the Financial System. This committee has as objective to
coordinate the inspection activities and the supervision of the
financial system as a whole.
